Autumn DIY Beauty Favorites
As beautiful as autumn is outside, sometimes, it has a less than beautiful impact on my skin. The cold weather can cause my skin and lips to get dry, and often, I get some minor breakouts as the season begins and my skin adjusts. So, today, I’m bringing you my essential autumn beauty DIYs for those who would like to combat similar autumn skin issues—DIY-style!
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. By loading your skin up on vitamin C daily (it is a must for me!), and particularly when your skin is under stress, you will definitely see an improvement in general skin health. Try the DIY Vitamin C Serum version above, and this antioxidant will soon become your best friend.
Let’s see, elbows, knees, hands, feet, shins—all dry? You bet! I have oily skin typically but when the cold weather hits, these areas of my body quickly begin to flake. Not only is moisturizing excellent for making your skin look healthy and luminous, but it will help fight skin aging. I’m not perfect, but I try to incorporate moisturizing into my post-shower routine, which helps the moisture stay absorbed in my skin longer. Try the beach butter balm version above, which really packs on the moisture!
As far as dry skin, my lips probably get it the worse. That’s why I reapply a moisturizing lip balm several times a day from fall through spring. The DIY lemon zest balm above includes olive oil, rosemary oil and vitamin E to make sure your lips always stay kissable!
To combat any acne issues, try the fall-inspired apple cider vinegar skin toner, which will remove dirt from your skin without drying your skin out as a lot of over the counter toners do because of their high alcohol content.
