DIY Facial Spritzer
A heat wave has swept through NYC over the last few weeks. While I welcome the heat, there are a few things I always carry in my bag while on the go in hot weather. One of my must-haves is a facial spritzer, which I love to make myself. A spritzer is a great way to cool off and be refreshed in the hot weather, particularly while hitting the pavement in the city or lying out on the beach.
The materials required are very simple. Get some distilled water and citrus peels (I used lemons today, which are always in my kitchen during the summer months). First, prepare some citrus peels (any citrus will work well). Then, pour fresh boiled water over the citrus peels and let them sit overnight in your kitchen. Pour the mixture the next morning into a spray bottle and your done!
You can add pretty accents such as rosemary or petals to your bottle to further enhance its fragrance and beauty as I did. Rosemary in particular is excellent for the skin and is used in aromatherapy to relax the nervous system and promote relaxation. In addition, you can add a few drops of your favorite perfume to the bottle, essential oils or aloe vera.
