Next month, the first ever Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market is taking place in Brooklyn (the awesome neighbor to the east). From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 17 and November 18, crafters, hands-on workshops, food, music, etc. will be set up at the East River State Park (Williamsburg waterfront) at N. 8th St. and Kent Ave. RCF’s website says over 200 vendors will be participating!
Shopping in New York City around Christmas can only be described as mayhem. Similar to myself, many New Yorkers have resorted to buying holiday gifts online to avoid such mayhem. While I enjoy the ease of sipping some coffee in my comfy desk chair and completing my Christmas shopping through a few clicks, I miss aimlessly wandering interesting shops to find a unique or homemade gift that I know is perfect for a certain person. This craft fair promises to give me this, and I plan to complete most, if not all, of my Christmas shopping here!
Renegade Craft Fair is a travelling marketplace featuring contemporary, hipster artists largely (think Etsy). Check out their website here: http://www.renegadecraft.com/
If you need to get original artwork and handmade goods, look no further. The Fair is held various times throughout the year in certain cities: Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and London.
Lastly, if you are an artist interested in showing at this fair, I saw that the application dates have been extended, and they are currently accepting applications on a rolling basis.
Stay tuned for some pics of my adventures at the Fair!
