The Lights of New York City
Every night New York City’s vast skyline lights up and beckons you to enjoy a night out on the town or simply admire its beauty from afar. For me, the City has many personalities at night. First is the classic, black and white NYC, which reminds me of the City’s timelessness and resilience. The second personality is embodied in the orange hues from the artificial lights of the street lamps and construction sites, which create patches of light and dark and remind me that this is truly a city that never sleeps. And lastly, there is the personality of the NYC night of endless possibilities and magic, as shown in the bottom picture, with its multitude of colors and the dreamy lens it allows you to see the world through.
On a more serious note, today, I am reminded that the City’s skyline will never be the same as it was before 2001, and I continue, particularly today, to remember and honor those who perished in the attacks here twelve years ago.
